THE DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS

Lauren Jane Barnett is an actress and multi-award-winning horror author and screenwriter known for her work on the history of horror films and her female-driven psychological horror stories. You might recognise her face from Blu-Ray extras with Hammer Films, including the upcoming collector’s edition of X-The Unkown.

She wrote the first walking guide to London horror movies, Death Lines: Walking London’s Horror History, which Kim Newman dubbed “The A to Z horror fans need”, and her sci-fi novella, Occam’s Dream, is often compared to an episode of Black Mirror. Her most recent work, Natural Thorn Killers: A Creeping Guide to Plant Horror is making waves for opening up this unique subgenre of eco-horror.

Film work includes the multi-award-winning shorts Darner and Robot Armadillo, and a segment in Video Shop Tales of Terror II,. She also co-hosts the London Horror Movie Club Podcast, dedicated to the world of indie horror.
