Hammer Film’s latest release is the Special Edition box set of X The Unknown, and among the heafty special features is a documentary “Displaced and Damned” about director Joseph Losey, who was breifly attached to direct X The Unkown and went on to directg Hammer’s The Damned.

In the documentary a handful of very clever historians, including myself, talk about his life and career, and I got the great joy of getting to also talk about how his film Boom! became a camp classic thanks to John Waters.  It’s a fun overview of this very aesthetic director’s life, and I am thrilled to be a part of my first Hammer box set.  There will be more to come…
