What is an ARC?

ARC stands for Advance Reader’s Copy.  They are early version of the book to send out to readers who can then read it and offer an online review without having to buy a copy.  In my case, this will be a digital copy (.pdf or .mobi).

Why is it Free?

Today there are so many books out there every month that it’s hard to match a reader and a book. Reviews, honestly, do a lot of the heavy lifting. They help sites like Amazon, Goodreads, or bookstore sites know what books fit the “similar to” category. They also help other readers know if this is the kind of book worth giving a try.

In order to get reviews out there, publishers will put out these ARCs in the hope that you will read and then review the book to help other people find it once the book is published.

How do I get my ARC?

If you want a copy, just email info@laurenjanebarnett.com with “ARC” in the subject line and the format of ARC you would like – we have PDF and MOBI review copies available.  On 25th of August, you will get a reply with your ARC!
